ABIDJAN LABORATORY FOR ECONOMIC EXPERIMENTATION (LEEA)

Would you like to contribute to research that could have an impact on future economic policies and practices?

Join our economic experimentation and become a key player in our study !

An economic experiment is a research method used to study the behavior of individuals in a controlled environment. It allows us to understand how people make decisions when faced with specific economic situations, such as purchasing goods, managing risk, and more. At the end of each experiment, each participant receives a compensation that depends on the experiment and the participant’s decisions.

  • Participation in experiments requires no special knowledge.
  • Registration is open to all (students, employees, job-seekers, etc.) without restriction.
  • Please note: only one registration per person is allowed!
  1. Registration

Register via our online form by clicking on the link at the end of the page. This will register you as a volunteer to take part in the LEEA experiments.

      2. Selection of participants

When an experiment is scheduled, LEEA selects a diverse group of participants from its database to ensure scientifically representative results.

       3. Test session

You will be invited to take part in a face-to-face session in an experimental room. The experiment will take place as follows:

  • Switch off your cell phone, so as not to interfere with the experiment.
  • Sit down in front of one of the switched-on computers.
  • Silently read the instructions for the experiment. They are located next to the computer keyboard. These instructions explain the nature of the decisions that will have to be made, and the nature of the interactions (if any) between the participants in the experiment They also specify the rules governing compensation for the experiment.

         4. Compensation

At the end of each experiment, you will receive financial compensation, which depends on your decisions during the experiment.

  • Compensation is paid in the following ways
  • Payments are made according to the rules defined in the experiment instructions. And will include a fixed and a variable part.
  • Each experiment has its own remuneration rules. No information on the remuneration of the experiment is provided before the experiment takes place.

However, based on a few past experiences, the average individual compensation is between 10,000 and 20,000 F CFA.
