The IT developer is the expert of computer languages, such as C++ or Java! Responsible for programming, i.e. the production of lines of code, he/she writes and follow a set of specifications specifying the technical details to be followed to create the program. In order to design “tailor-made” computer programs, he/she participates upstream in the analysis of user needs, then in the testing phase. Afterwards, he adapts the software to the client’s requirements by making the necessary adjustments. Afterwards, he intervenes to carry out maintenance or to develop the programs.

The job of database manager consists of collecting, managing and making available data by organizing their complementarity and compatibility. The Senior Officer in Geographical Information Systems creates and operates geographic databases, using database management systems (DBMS) or geographic information systems (GIS) software. These geographic databases and the programs or software packages that allow them to be used constitute geographic information systems. He/she retrieves, integrates, organizes and enters the necessary geographical data using GIS, CAD/CAM software. He/She regularly updates the GIS databases.
