As part of the efforts to promote the profession of statistician among young women, on 04 July 2024 I received 13 young women, including 10 from Côte d’Ivoire, 2 from Cameroon and one from Niger, who have been admitted to the (ISE) entrance examination at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquée (ENSEA) in 2024.
”It was a great opportunity for me to congratulate them on their brilliant success, but also to encourage them to be more self-sacrificing, committed and hard-working. They are the future of the continent, the future leaders in statistics, whose dedication and passion for numbers and data must inspire other girls. I have asked these brilliant young girls to believe in themselves and their abilities. Statistical science is not only a field of knowledge, but also a powerful tool for change. They have the skills and determination to make a difference in this field”, said the Minister.
As in previous years, the 13 girls each received a computer and an financial aid as a sign of encouragement. This awareness-raising initiative is part of the strategic focus on equity and attractiveness of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquée (ENSEA).
